WSwitch for Smart Switches App Reviews

I really like this app and use it to control my WeMo Devices. Now they are only a click away. No more unlocking phone, starting app and fiddling around. It is very reliable (more reliable than an iphone app from a different developer) which is the most important part for me. Thank you and keep up the good work. I’d love to see WeMo Motion Sensor integration some time in the future.

I wanted it, needed it, suggested it to Belkin and now it’s here thanks to Georgios! What a good idea to put it in the menu bar! Need to do NOTHING, when I opened it for the first time It was already synked. You’re gonna say « why would you need that? » Because it’s a lot faster to turn off the lights when I go to bed, my phone is charging, I’m on the computer already, no code to do, no application to open, just a few clics and it works better than the phone App, it’s like a direct switch.

Worked perfectly from the second it was launched - found my devices and got the status with no lag. Toggling the on/off switch in this app is so fast it’s like pressing the physical button on the device. Note it only works for devices on your local network, not remote.

This app is essential for anyone having a Wemo system at home. It works great and has pretty much everything you could need. Belkin itself should have made this available to its users, but they’re not investing much time on their platform. We’re lucky Giorgos is more passionate about it than Belkin itself! Thanks!

I installed this and it immediately found and displayed all my WEMO’s. Does what it says is does. I created a group of indoor lights and all worked perfectly. I just found this a bit expensive compared to other apps.

It has stopped recognizing my devices, probably after one of the updates. Useless now.

will not find any of my Wemo product - waste of money

I have simple needs, and it does exactly what it says.

It’s still quite a stunner than Belkin doesn’t offer a desktop app for controlling their devices. When I go downstairs to the basement family room, I’ve either got to carry my phone with me (which I don’t normally do because Verizon is useless in my basement) or I’ve got to fumble around in the dark to find my WeMo switch to turn it on. WSwitch fills the gap nicely, doing exactly what it says. It searches your local network for any WeMo devices and makes them available for simple on-off control. What it doesn’t do (and doesn’t claim to do): It doesn’t control your WeMos while you’re away from home (although it would probably work if you had a home VPN you could tunnel into). It doesn’t let you access and adjust your WeMo schedules. I don’t think it lets you set up a new WeMo. But it doesn’t actually claim to do any of those things. At $4.99 it seems a little steep for what it does, but I’ve probably already spent more than $4.99 worth of my own time trying to find a way to control my WeMo devices from my Mac. So, in the end it’s worth it.

This app is really simple, and even works better than the official WeMo app (a LOT better).

I was hoping an app like this would come along for quite a while. Now I can turn off my WEMO Switch with my computer too! Love it.

it’s okay, it crashes a lot more than my phone app, requiring a restart. On the plus side, recognized my setup immediately. No configuring, like the phone app.

Device list is now only showing up with switches only. The device names have disappeared, OSX 10.11.5 (15F34) Latest version of wswitch as of 20160627

FINALLY a way to control Wemo switches from a computer instead of just the phone and tablet. Awesome and sleek implementation. Great job!

I thought I could set up WEMO switches by time on/off and by day using this app. Unless I’m missing something, all I can do is turn the lights either on or off. So far I can’t recommend it. Just recieved confirmation from developer of this app that using a MAC you can ONLY turn the switch on and off. You CAN NOT schedule the switch. Save your money. Not worth it !

Just missing an iPhone/Watch companion, like another of his apps, WidgeTunes (also great!). Current 3rd-party iOS WeMo apps can’t adjust the brightness level of the lights, just toggling them on and off.

Works perfectly as expected. The developers who made this did a phenomenal job!

Is very usefull if you have Wemo Switches or Wemo Led Bulbs in your home. IIve been waiting a long time for an application like this. I’ll expect from this app something like… 1) Ability to trigger on or off selected Wemo Switches based on OSX events (Login or Logout for example) 2) More details about the InSight Switch consumption history. 3) Manage devices scheduled tasks. 4) Device grouping like, rooms lights etc.

When I turn the app on my imac the ios app looses connection, when i make a change on ios the imac app doesn’t update. Needs some work, sorry i paid for it.
